Band
Originally formed in late 2004, Forever Never are a metal band from Essex, UK with something a little bit extra than your average metal band, drawing influences from a much wider scope than you might expect. Rhythmical, heavy and dripping with melodic twists and technical turns, FN take inspiration from Meshuggah, Michael Jackson and Mint Condition in equal measures.
The bands 2006 debut album ‘Aporia’ received critical acclaim from the likes of Kerrang! Magazine and achieved healthy sales following a relentless touring schedule in support of the release which found FN supporting the likes of Fozzy, Caliban, Skindred and Sikth in the UK as-well as a 26 shows in 30 days trial by fire in America opening for Stuck Mojo across 15 states in Eastern USA at the invitation of Mojo guitarist Rich Ward and a slot at the sold out UXFEST’06. Promo video for album track ‘As I Lie’ received great airplay on ‘Scuzz’ and ‘Kerrang! TV’ further increasing the bands profile.
2007 began on a high with the first 4 months finding Forever Never supporting Slipknot Side-Project ‘Stone Sour’ and Gibraltan metallers ‘Breed 77′ on UK tours, receiving a slew of positive magazine and on-line reviews and winning over hundreds of new fans along the way. The momentum continued into the summer with further roadwork on Danish Metal band ‘Mnemic’s July UK jaunt. Now with the seeds of a loyal and ever growing fan-base sown, the band rounded off the summer with successful appearances at both ‘ROCK OFF’ and ‘BLOODSTOCK’ Festivals. Driven by an insatiable work ethic and unwilling to rest on their laurels, the band continued it’s assault on the United Kingdom with an October tour alongside fellow rising UK metallers Panic Cell and the release of digital single ‘Empty Promises’.
More heavy rotation on ‘Kerrang! TV’ ensued for the accompanying promotional video and the single received airplay on Radio 1, Radio 6/Bruce Dickinson, Totalrock Radio as-well as garnering a rapturous reception from publications such as Rhythm Magazine and Total Guitar both of whom ran features on the band. B-Sides ‘Break The Trend’ and ‘Thanks For Letting Me Know’ also received positive responses and found themselves on Metal Hammer Magazines’ November covermount CD and Rocksound Magazines‘ ‘Ones To Watch In 2008′ disc respectively. The end of the year, was rounded up in fine fashion, with a headline show at Camden Barfly that received a 10/10 review from Rock Sound Magazine, who said “Their melodic metal’s been honed by touring, and song after song threatens to soar from the Barfly and into Camden’s streets”. The band were then also named as KBY BAND OF THE YEAR in the same issue/review.
Turning their attention overseas Forever Never started 2008 supporting MADINA LAKE in France and Germany for 2 weeks. Amazingly well received, their debut European shows won the band hundreds of new fans and they received positive reviews and letters pages mentions in magazines and webzines such as ROCK ONE, ROCK MAG and LES ETERNELS. Returning to the UK in April 08 the band headed out in support of Latino crossover kings Ill Nino however disaster struck after an intense and positive opening show at Islington Academy when on the drive to the following show in Wrexham, the bands tour van suffered a blow out causing it to veer off the road and roll 3 times.
The band somehow walked away from what could very easily have been a fatal accident.
Their sophomore self titled album, was released on April 16th 2009 on Siege of Amida Records, to a great response that band have since toured the UK extensively with headline shows in June, July and October ‘09 as-well as further supports with Vision Of Disorder and a full UK & European run with Skindred in Feb/March 2010. The band also played to an over capactiy 4th stage at Download Festival 2009, which proved to be an eye opening performance.
